We have all kinds of meaningful and unique ideas that not only are perfect for your peeps but will also support Small Businesses across America! Whoo Hoo!!! WIN for everyone!!!
‘Tis the season to give so why not give something that supports small business, and celebrates the unique passions of the people on your list…. And best of all, it helps boost our overall country’s morale one person at a time… which, if we’re being honest, we could all use right? More reasons to come together? Like a great big FAMILY (see what I did there? Did the title of our blog just make a whole lot of sense on another level? huh? huh? nudge nudge?) OK…Enough playful soapboxing… back to presents…
Let the All American Holiday Gift Guide begin!
For the American Patriot
1776 United
1776 United is a patriotic apparel company, creating the best patriotic shirts, American history apparel, patriotic hats, patriotic hoodies, and accessories. They are out of Georgia and we’ve bought a few of their T shirts, hats and coffee mugs. They are good quality and a nice way to be patriotic without bing political. I have the shirt that simply says ‘Patriot’ on it. Madison loves her ‘Signers’ shirt that boasts the signatures of the Declaration of Independence. Use the code ThisFamilyBlog for 20% off your first purchase.
American Flags (and more)
Made in America, they cover what 1776 United doesn’t. License plate covers, jewelry, signs, even a very sparkly and lovely American flag ornament. And of course, flags! Personally I’m a fan of some of their jewelry. It’s patriotic but classy. But it’s not just American flags, they have historical flags, pins and other Patriotic Items.
For the American Historian
StoryWorth
We’re big fans of storytelling. I mean we work in the entertainment industry so we probably should be, right? StoryWorth is a lovely Delaware company that takes a year of stories from your particular person and binds them in a beautiful book. It works like this, each week StoryWorth sends a question and the recipient answers it. You get to respond and ask further questions if you wish. Once finished, they compile all the answers and you choose the cover. Easy Peasy. If you don’t like their questions, that’s OK. you can ad your own. We did!
We’ve done one for my grandmother (And I cannot tell you how special this was because it was a way for her to stay in communication with all the grandkids the last year of her life and we learned a lot). She finished and passed away shortly after. I treasure my book of her life stories. Now we are doing it with my other relatives. It’s interactive and fun and keeps people in touch all year long. Use our link and get $10 off your purchase. Hooray!!!
Boston Tea Party Sampler
Complete with six 4-ounce assorted loose-leaf teas (oolong, bohea, congou, souchong, singlo and hyson) the same exact types thrown over the side of British ships during the famous Boston Tea Party. It also includes reusable tins and a history fact sheet so you can be super smart as you are drinking tea and feeling very historical. I’m really hoping my daughter doesn’t read this because I’m totally getting this for her for Christmas this year. They have other historical teas as well but this one is just so cool! If you ask real nice maybe I’ll send you a recording of us singing a song about chucking tea over the side of the ships. It’s hilarious.
READ CONVERSATIONS WITH YOUR GRANDMOTHER
For the American Explorer
For the American Explorer they need an adventure! Since everyone has different definitions as to what this means, I recommend visiting Trusted Tours. They have tours in almost every major American city and they are all locally operated by folks who have a passion for the stories they tell. Choose any city and then look at everything from ghost tours to historical tours to boat excursions. We’ve done a couple with them and this is simply great memories just waiting to happen! When I give adventures as gifts, I put the tickets in a box along with a fun ornament reflective of the adventure about to happen or a picture frame to commemorate the event. These guys own Ghosts and Graveyards tours and I cannot recommend them enough. Fun for all ages! AND no jump scares. (very important). Memories waiting to be made nationwide right here!

Outdoorsy RV Rental
Ever gone on an adventure in an RV? The pros are your house is with you so don’t have to worry about packing and that nagging feeling you’ve left something at the last hotel. I have to be honest, sometimes travel in the RV IS the adventure. LOL Boy do we have some stories! Outdoorsy RV rental is a really epic gift for a couple or a family or even your own… who doesn’t want a weekend adventure? no airfare or hotel needed…just pack and go! The BEST part of this is you don’t have to winterize and clean out the tanks, etc…it’s a rental. It’s a great way to pack a big family for big adventure without incurring a huge cost.
For the Geneologist
Ancestry DNA
The science behind this is extraordinary. Doing these tests has uncovered stories we didn’t know we had in This Family. I’ve discovered a blood aunt and cousin I didn’t know I had (and nobody else did either). AncestryDNA® keeps honing in their science and the DNA reports change and become more accurate. It’s great fun to compare results and see who got what in the family. And it’s totally affordable. I know people get spooked by ‘what they do with your info’ I encourage you to read the disclaimer. We felt if they wanted to share our DNA with the database that could help catch bad guys, we were A OK with that. But for sure make an informed decision. I gotta be honest, we’ve given these as gifts and its hilarious watching everyone at the table simultaneously spitting into tubes. Yes I took pictures. Then they all threatened me if I posted them since everyone was in their jammies first thing in the morning so here’s Sage and I at a genealogy conference being excited about it.
SHOP AncestryDNA®
Family Chartmasters
These guys are out of Utah and do family trees and DNA charts but its more like an art piece then an information. Don’t get me wrong, all the info is there, they are just so pretty to look at! I have a ‘fill in the blank one because I wanted to do it myself with calligraphy but you can have them done for you. They have charts and trees to suit all kinds of specialty things. I have seen some beautiful ones celebrating Native America, American Revolutionary lines, and lines to the Mayflower! They also do gift certificates in the amount of $25 and $50. Genealogy and art. Excellent. This is such a personal gift and every time I’ve gifted one people are super touched…like tears involved. It’s a good one!

For the American Entrepreneur
The Business Anchor Planner
I admit, as the blog has grown there are more things to juggle. Giveaway schedules, Email schedules, Partnerships, Travel, and oh yeah, the actual blog posts. I went through five planners in five months and couldn’t find one that covered what I needed it to and still have room for things like kid schedule, speaking engagements, home life, etc. At one point I was even carrying three calendars and a separate notebook with various ‘To Do’ Lists. Can you say insane??
Getting in and out of the car was stressful as I was literally juggling schedules. That shiz needed to stop. I mean, I need a hand free at all times to hold coffee..duh.
Then I found The Business Anchor Business Planner out of Virginia. Game Changer. I bought a binder that matched my theme, tabs for easy organization and I couldn’t be happier (or more organized). Life. Business. Projects. Social Media. All in one spot. Brilliant. For bloggers in particular because it was designed with us in mind but good for anyone who deals with product launches and regular deadlines. Use the code tfb-planner and that will save 10% in the cart.
Online Course-Jessie on a Journey
So there are a ton of these out there but one that I have found the most helpful is called Mindset Module offered by Jessie on a Journey out of NYC. She has tons of courses, and I’ve taken a few. Most are geared for online biz, blogging, and tourism but I think the Mindset Module is something every entrepreneur should go through as it is a step by step process that provides clarity to a business in a way I have not experienced before. It’s a step that most people gloss over because they are so excited about their new biz idea but it’s a necessary moment to get super de duper clear on mission of the biz. I mean, if we’re being honest, I was very impressed with my great ideas for biz that could spin off from the blog. It wasn’t until I took the course and did the work that I turned the notebooks of great ideas into an actual plan that made sense for me. Great gift for the budding entrepreneur and maybe just anyone feeling a wee lost and needing to take a class to get clear!

Stuff the Stockings with retro Americana cheer
Can’t do an All American Holiday Gift Guide without talking about stockings!!!!
Thoughtful, fun, and pure Americana at its cheesy and fun best! Allow me to introduce you to Nostalgic Retro Candy boxes. They come with all the faves from various years and they make everyone just smile. I can’t tell you how fun it is to watch someone light up with all their favorite childhood sweets that they thought they couldn’t get anymore. My grandma LOVED getting a bunch of her favorite yummy treats at Christmas. Always so much laughter and smiles.
Final Notes
It isn’t a lengthy list but it’s a thoughtful one. Delight in one of the experiences America does best, holiday.
I hope you find some unique and meaningful gifts in this All American Holiday Gift Guide that will delight both giver and receiver.
Look, it’s easy to get swept up in another thing America does well, commercialism.
This year it is our hope that instead of just looking at what’s on sale and what the commercials are pushing you to buy, you give some thought how to give something meaningful but also with an underlying message of reigniting a love for our nation that We the People really should embrace.
AND
Shopping this list supports American business and American values of history, pride, and entrepreneurship. It’s also a way to connect without having to be political…providing truly meaningful gifts for the people on your list. And that, my friends, is a gift to us all!
Have a fantastic Holiday Season!!!!!
How will you inspire those people on your list this year?
