Leavenworth Washington is the best smelling town I’ve ever visited and my nose will never again be so satisfied!
A Clean Palate
I think it all started with the crisp mountain air. Everything was fresh as the snow and icicles gently dripping off branches. I could have stayed down at the river playing in the snow but the family was excited to explore the town. We did and my nose (and tummy) thanks them.
Gingerbread
The first place we entered was the gingerbread factory. It was like walking into Mrs. Claus’ kitchen with gingerbread goodness everywhere!!!
Say Cheese
It was Sage who spotted The Cheesemonger’s Shop and down we went. Who does not love a good stinky cheesy? Delectable!
Tea Time
We spent quite a while in the Tea Shoppe. Grandma and Madison Bella in particular were captivated by all the smells (and samples). There were the lightest flavors to full bodied ones. It was a feast for the senses for sure.
OMG BAVARIAN PASTRY
Then we found the pastries…. Look at these! I mean LOOK AT THESE! SO MUCH YUM in one place! Hard to say which was happier, my nose or my mouth.
And what was outside the Pastry shop? A Christmas tree decorated with real pretzels! Bread and salt… on a tree. I may have found my happy place.
This trip would not be complete without a visit to the local coffee shop…because that’s what we do. Coffee.
We tried Bourbon Maple Syrup Lattes. The bourbon syrup added a very interesting layer to the latte. I approve of this message!

Looks like fun! We always search out the local coffee shop when traveling – it’s a good way to get a feel for the area, support local businesses and try something different. The cheese shop looks right up my alley!
