Leavenworth Washington is the best smelling town I’ve ever visited and my nose will never again be so satisfied!
A Clean Palate
I think it all started with the crisp mountain air. Everything was fresh as the snow and icicles gently dripping off branches. I could have stayed down at the river playing in the snow but the family was excited to explore the town. We did and my nose (and tummy) thanks them.

Gingerbread

The first place we entered was the gingerbread factory. It was like walking into Mrs. Claus’ kitchen with gingerbread goodness everywhere!!!

Say Cheese
It was Sage who spotted The Cheesemonger’s Shop and down we went. Who does not love a good stinky cheesy? Delectable!

Tea Time
We spent quite a while in the Tea Shoppe. Grandma and Madison Bella in particular were captivated by all the smells (and samples). There were the lightest flavors to full bodied ones. It was a feast for the senses for sure.

OMG BAVARIAN PASTRY
Then we found the pastries…. Look at these! I mean LOOK AT THESE! SO MUCH YUM in one place! Hard to say which was happier, my nose or my mouth.

And what was outside the Pastry shop? A Christmas tree decorated with real pretzels! Bread and salt… on a tree. I may have found my happy place.

This trip would not be complete without a visit to the local coffee shop…because that’s what we do. Coffee.

We tried Bourbon Maple Syrup Lattes. The bourbon syrup added a very interesting layer to the latte. I approve of this message!

Oh, wow! Oh, wow! I totally understand why you gave it this title. It sounds perfect and I can already smell the gingerbread, teas and pretzels. The cheese – well, I could do wtihout that. LOL. Great post!
Wonderful fun. Love the pretzel on tree!
Will Part II include the Amazing Nog of Fire? Yes, please!!
What a great day! Coffee, food, beautiful scenery??? What more could you ask for? I LOVE Washington and want to move there one day <3.
You are my kind of girl! LOL Where are you now? Where do you want to move? I spent a lot of time in WA (high school and college and beyond) so I can probably give you some tips if you would like. π
I can almost smell the gingerbread from here! I’m not so sure about that stinky cheese though…
hahaha Definitely a difference in smells! But then there was the coffee.. and the pastries… and the tea… I digress.. LOL
Nothing wrong with planning a trip around food! Now I want a pretzel! π
go get one! I approve of this message!
Just reading this made me take in all the wonderful smells. Yum and clean mountain air on top of it. What is better.
Awww thank you! I’ve never written a post quite like this so I’m glad you enjoyed it!
This place looks like so much fun! I’m not sure about the smells, but I think going there might add ten pounds.
This town looks so cute – right out of a storybook! Great pictures!
Isnβt it funny how a smell will remind you of things? Love the title!
Isn’t that the truth? A smell can take you back to a memory almost instantly. Thank you for the compliment! LOL
This looks absolutely spectacular!!! And the gingerbread is unbelievable!
Well thank you! It was pretty spectacular… so much that I have to do a second post on it LOL
So fun! I would love to try that Bourbon Maple Syrup Latte!

Oh Leavenworth is so special! You would love it! I’m doing a second part to this so stay tuned… there is a nutcracker museum and more… you’ll be doing a happy dance. π
Looks like fun! We always search out the local coffee shop when traveling – it’s a good way to get a feel for the area, support local businesses and try something different. The cheese shop looks right up my alley!
So you like coffee and cheese….and you travel and blog… soul mates! LOL
What a neat place! It looks beautiful too!
It’s pretty cool! So cool I have a part two coming!
